NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION, TREATY DAY IN NS AND THE START OF MI'KMAQ HISTORY MONTH
SEPTEMBER 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day.
OCTOBER 1 is Treaty Day in Nova Scotia and the start of Mi’kmaq History Month.
We keep in our hearts, minds, and prayers the survivors of residential schools and their families and communities, as well as those who did not return home. We pray for healing and for a deepening of trust and friendship as we learn and grow together on the path of reconciliation. You are encouraged to wear an orange shirt today and learn about Orange Shirt Day and its significance.
