Mysteries of the Rosary
Mysteries of the Rosary

Sister Clare Marie Lyons wants to share her personal devotion to the Mystery of the Rosary. And now, thanks to a little booklet she has produced, everyone can experience the power and the mystery of the rosary.

Specifically designed for elder Catholics, Sister Clare Marie says her booklet compares the suffering of Jesus with the challenges people experience, as they get older. "I wrote it for Catholics now living in nursing homes, those who are shut-in and those with the physical limitations brought on by increasing age," the Sister of St. Martha explains. "But despite its focus on the aged, Mysteries of the Rosary for the Twilight Years may be adapted to the individual reader of any age."

In response to his own devotion to the rosary, Pope John Paul II has recently added five Mysteries of Light to the prayer. The Luminous Mysteries now join the Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries and the Glorious Mysteries to make up the five decades of the rosary.

The word rosary means "Crown of Roses." The Blessed Mary has revealed to several people, including the three children at Fatima, that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete rosary makes her a crown of roses.

Her other spiritual booklets include Spiritual Gems, Journey of Hope and Journey through the Desert (Lenten reflections), Reflections for Advent and Way of the Cross for the Twilight Years. Anyone interested in receiving a copy of Mysteries of the Rosary for the Twilight Years is invited to contact the Sisters of St. Martha's communications office, telephone 863-3113, ext. 1136; email communications@themarthas.com
