FEDERATION MARITIME PROJECT FOCUSES ON ADVOCACY
The Sisters of Charity Federation Maritime Project
committee met June 8 near Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The
project focuses on advocacy for women and children in areas of housing
and social assistance in the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
It also includes advocacy for and with working persons living in
poverty. The Maritime Project is mandated by leadership teams of the
four Canadian-based Federation congregations.

The recent meeting was hosted by Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate
Conception. The committee also represents les Religieuses de
Notre-Dame-du-Sacre-Coeur based in Moncton, N.B.; Sisters of Charity of
Halifax, N.S. and Sisters of St. Martha of Antigonish, N.S. Left
